Renowned local blues artist and West Australian Music (WAM) 2025 Blues Artist of the Year started playing his DBG Weissenborn a few years ago. The guitar was the first all Blackwood weissenborn built at DBG and was initially known as the “Black Dog”. A video of Jack playing may be found at https://www.facebook.com/reel/1928938708039165 . Jack also features on the Dog Box Guitars Youtube page.

Ray Jones

West Australian Male Country Artist of the Year for 2023 and 2024, Ray Jones, first heard a DBG Weissenborn at the Strings Attached festival down in Margaret River back in 2019. As Ray told me it was then that such a guitar became part of his bucket list. It took until 2025 before Ray finally pulled the trigger on that dream and now his own personalised guitar features at every gig. Check out Ray’s Facebook page for videos, including this rendition of Graceland.

Ben Catley

Renowned festival artist Ben Catley has recently joined the Dog Box Guitars artist line up with a new handbuilt Blackwood Weissenborn style guitar. Ben is known for his highly energetic playing style and has toured internationally taking his own brand of roots music to stages in Europe and Australasia. You can find Ben on his Facebook page here. Can’t wait to hear the sound of the new guitar added to Ben’s repertoire.
